Do you feel like the ending of the book should have been different? Why or why not? If you changed it, how do you think it should have ended.

I feel like it should’ve been different because it doesn’t really tell you much about with Daisy at the end of the book and i feel as if she should have been more involved.

I think the Great Gatsby should have ended different because it felt like Fitzgerald wanted to quickly end the book instead of considering other possible outcomes. I think the book should have ended with Gatsby moving on and leaving no trace to find a better life for himself so that he could make a difference.

I think the book should have ended it a different way and I felt like it was rushed to be finished and it should have ended by gatsby being able to leave all of his old life behind and move on

I think the ending of “The Great Gatsby” is perfect the way it is. I love that it brings up debate to be made about how Gatsby died, as a hopeful romantic or a sad man that came to the conclusion that Daisy doesn’t love him. I like that it Closes with Nick on his own because it starts with Nick on his own, it revolves full circle to show that you can spend a decade with people and never truly know them and never really change or evolve yourself.

I don't think it should have ended in a different way beacuse I think Fitzgerald wanted to leave it vague so people could interpret it. If I had to change the ending I would explain more on what happen to daisy and Tom.

I actually liked how it ended. It did a good job of describing how Gatsby lived and how that ended with his death. His death sort of showed his life particularly his funeral, not many people really knew him. Though it was not the most satisfying ending it made a lot of sense.

I think that the ending was perfect, it sets a sad feeling at the end and that you didn't expect it.

as a whole, i loved the book “The Great Gatsby” by F.Scott Fitzgerald. it was very well written, it kept the readers engaged and on the edge of their seat. however, i think that the book should’ve ended WAY differently and if i had to write it this is how i think it should’ve gone. i think that george should’ve found out that tom was actually the person who killed myrtle and gone to kill him instead of Gatsby. leaving daisy with the choices that she made with Gatsby before the whole marriage and myrtle incident exploded, then when daisy runs back to Gatsby, tom and him will already be gone (traveling the world) where Gatsby finds someone who actually wants to be with him. (like me because leonardo dicaprio is yummy)

I think it should of ended differently, because the ending Scott fitzsgerald's ending is quit depressing.

I honestly loved the way the book ended. I tend to love books that leave you "on the edge of your seat." I liked how it made you decide the theme of the overall book. It sort of was a love story. It made it seem like back in that time love only came from how much money you had or how fancy you were. Gatsby towards the end of the book truly did love daisy, and wanted the best for her but unfortunately his life ended too quickly.

I think that it should have ended differently because it seems like the author rushed the ending by killing off one of the main character at the end and then having his funeral on a couple pages later. Also, he didn't even say what happened to the other characters and left the reader with a cliff hanger.

I think the ending should be different in the book because it seems dark Tom gets away with throwing Gatsby under the bus when asked by Wilson about the car. I think the book should have ended with Daisy dead to try and revive Gatsby. Then Gatsby would have to get over Daisy and put his intelligence to good work.

I feel like the ending of the book could've been differently because the ending goes really dark because Gatsby was shot and killed and there we barley any people who went to his funeral, so Fitzgerald could've made the ending less dark.

I feel like it was really dark and during the rest of the book it wasn't as dark. When Gatsby was shot and killed barely anyone went to his funeral. I just feel like he could've made it less dark.

i think it should’ve ended different because i felt like the book was at a good steady pace but then just rapidly came to an end without any idea with what happened to all of the other characters.

I think the book "The Great Gatsby" was a good book, but the only thing i would change would be the ending, because it doesn't say what Daisy thinks/ feels about Gatsbys death

The ending of the book weird in my opinion, Daisys story was left unfinished in some ways and that it was rushed and couldve had a more suddle ending and explaining more about the characters and how went on

No, i think it ended just fine. They all kinda caused drama throughout the book so they all had it coming for them. They put it on themselves. Some of it was unnecessary though.

i wouldn't change it because it was a decent ending and i don't like it when a story ends too good otherwise it just seems like a fairy tail

Even though I don't like the ending, I understand it. I wish Tom and Daisy got what they deserved, and that Gatsby didn't have to die, but it makes sense when you know understand the symbols in the book and the privileges that the upper class have. I think the almost abrupt ending was very fitting and I'd leave the ending as is.

I think the book should have ended different....it felt rushed. If he would have made it longer it would have been better. I wanted to know more about daisy.

I think that Nick should’ve stayed at Gatsby’s house and swam with him, then accidentally have gotten shot instead of Gatsby. Then Tom should’ve gone to jail for provoking violence and Daisy and Gasby should end up together.

I do not think that the ending of the book should have been changed because the book has already been successful with its current ending According to a Scribner spokesperson, `` more than 25 million copies of ``The Great Gatsby'' have been sold worldwide since the novel's original publication in 1925, while more than 15 million copies have been sold in North America alone.''

No, I liked the ending of The Great Gatsby. Even though Gatsby died and it was sad, it pulled me more into the book because Tom and Daisy left after Gatsby died and it was interesting.

I do not think the book should have ended differently. Although the main character died it did not leave a cliff hanger and I believe it just adds to the drama of it.

I liked the way the book ended. I don’t think it should have ended differently. It really showed everyone’s true colors in the end of the book. It also showed that not everyone gets the happy ending that they want. It does suck that Daisy, got away with what she did and that’s the only thing I would’ve changed.

i think the book should stay how it ended because its create the image of how people thought of Gatsby. All they wanted was his fancy parties and his alcohol.

I think the ending was good, gatsby was not known for anything but being a party animal that no one actually know well. He didnt really have much going for him other that that

I don't like how Daisy leaves and never comes back for Gatsby. She uses Gatsby for temporary happiness and it is unfair to Gatsby. The man dies over a woman who doesn't care for him and he could have done way better. Even though I find all of these things crazy I actually like how the book ends. I think it shows what happens in real life. (Maybe a little exaggerated at some points)

i wish the ending was different and gatsby didn’t die, it just tore everything apart and made it really sad, i think him and daisy should’ve gone off and be happy and what happened to gatsby and everything shouldn’t have happened

I think the ending for Great Gatsby was good because it showed how Gatsby was able to work up to where he was. And also it showed how much he cared for Daisy for taking the blame for the accident.

I think the ending should of been a little more conclusive rather than staying open ended. That way it would have been a more meaningful ending. If I could change the ending, I would make it so that it showed more of what was going on in Gatsby's just before he died.

I think the book ended how it should have. Yes it would have been nice to see Gatsby, after all his hard work, finally be with Daisy and be happily ever after. But the real world isn't like that. Everyone has up's and down's, it just so happened to be that Gatsby's final down was never being with Daisy, and getting shot.
